This Week's Parsha

Toldos

This Dessert:

Red Lentil Soup

Yitzchak is mourning the death of his father, Avraham. Yaakov makes him red lentil soup – a food we serve to mourners. Then Eisav walks in feeling very hungry. He sees the soup on the stove and asks for some. Yaakov agrees to trade him – for Eisav’s rights as the firstborn son.
