This Dessert:
Red Lentil Soup
Yitzchak is mourning the death of his father, Avraham. Yaakov makes him red lentil soup – a food we serve to mourners. Then Eisav walks in feeling very hungry. He sees the soup on the stove and asks for some. Yaakov agrees to trade him – for Eisav’s rights as the firstborn son.
What You Need:
Ingredients
12 mini pie crusts
1 recipe red velvet brownie batter, prepared
How to Make It:
Prepare mini pie crusts according to the package directions.
Heat the oven to 350℉.
Fill each prepared pie crust halfway with red velvet brownie batter and bake until ready, about 15 minutes.
A Red Velvet Brownie Recipe:
Ingredients
½ cup margarine
1 ½ cups sugar
2 eggs
3 tablespoons cocoa powder
2 teaspoons vanilla
1 ounce red food coloring
1 ¼ cup flour
¼ teaspoon salt
Directions
Heat the oven to 350℉.
In a medium bowl cream together margarine and sugar.
Add eggs one at a time, beating after each addition.
In a small bowl combine the cocoa powder, vanilla and food coloring.
Add the cocoa powder mixture to the margarine mixture and beat to combine.
Add flour and salt and slowly mix until incorporated.
Pour into a well greased 9-inch round pan.
Bake for about 30 minutes until a toothpick comes out only slightly colored.
