This Dessert:
Gifts of Sheep and Cows
While Yaakov is on his way home from Lavan’s house, he hears that Eisav is coming toward him with an army. Yaakov is afraid of what Eisav might do to him, so he prepares by davening, getting ready for war and sending gifts to Eisav. The gifts include sheep and cows and many other animals.
What You Need:
Ingredients
12 mini cupcakes (made with your favorite recipe)
1 cup white frosting
½ - 1 cup white mini marshmallows (about 50)
¼ cup chocolate frosting
2 tablespoons pink frosting
Things
Offset spatula
Sharp paring knife
3 toothpicks
2 piping bags
Scissors
How to Make It:
Using the offset spatula cover the top of all the cupcakes in a smooth layer of white frosting.
Sheep
Cut the marshmallows in half.
Place the marshmallows, cut side down, on six of the cupcakes. Start with a full ring around the outer edge. Add a second ring inside, leave a space of about 2 marshmallows for a face. Working your way in, fill in the rest of the face of the cupcake.
Dip a toothpick in chocolate frosting and then dab it twice onto the uncovered frosting of each cupcake where the eyes should go to make two eyes.
Dip another toothpick in pink frosting and draw a line on each cupcake where the mouth should go.
Cows
Fill a piping bag with chocolate frosting and cut off a small piece of the tip.
Pipe a cow pattern onto the rest of the cupcakes. Leave a small white space in the middle.
Using the chocolate frosting pipe two small dots for eyes into the center of the cupcakes.
Fill a piping bag with pink frosting and cut off a small piece of the tip.
Pipe a small oval of pink under the eyes as a mouth and nose.
